Mourne Mountains Brewery crafts bold, flavourful beers inspired by the rugged beauty of the surrounding landscape. Based in County Down, Northern Ireland, they brew a diverse range of core and seasonal ales, lagers and stouts using fresh mountain water drawn from the heart of the Mourne Mountains. This 12-can Showcase Box is the definitive tour through their range — from crisp pilsners and session IPAs to bold West Coast hops, a wheat beer, a dry Irish stout and a deep ruby winter ale. A Walk in the Clouds – Hazy Pale Ale, 4% | Inspired by the E3 5c rock climb on the south tor of Slieve Binnian, this New England-style pale ale combines Citra, Mosaic and coconut-tinged Sabro for ripe mango, stone fruit and lime zest, finishing with gentle, low bitterness. Vegan friendly.
Big Rock – Wheat Beer | Special yeast produces fruity aromas balanced by spicy German Northern Brewer hops, with malt and a hint of clove coming through from the yeast.
Little Creatures – West Coast Pale Ale, 4.8% | Brewed with a touch of crystal malt for colour and flaked oats for body, with classic West Coast hops — Cascade, Columbus, Azacca, Chinook and Simcoe — bringing waves of pine, citrus and resinous depth. Vegan friendly.
Mourne Gold – Pale Ale, 4.0% | A pale ale striking the perfect balance between hop brightness and malt smoothness, with subtle notes of citrus and floral hops complemented by gentle malt sweetness.
Mourne Mist – Pilsner, 4.5% | A crisp, Czech-style pilsner brewed with 100% Irish-grown lager malt, with Saaz and Magnum hops bringing delicate floral and earthy bitterness against a smooth, clean malt profile.
Rocket Man – Juicy Pale Ale, 4.5% | Inspired by the E6 6b climb of the same name on Slieve Bearnagh, hopped generously with Citra and Mosaic for juicy citrus and tropical notes — lime, grapefruit, mango and stone fruit over a softly hazy golden body.
Seminary Gates – Hazy DIPA, 8% | A big, hop-forward Double IPA from the core seasonal range. Limited current stock availability — full tasting notes to follow as fresh batches become available.
Session IPA – New England Session IPA, 3.8% | Bursting with soft, juicy tropical flavours and a gentle haze, crafted for easy-going enjoyment with a light, refreshing and endlessly drinkable character. Gold medal winner, SIBA Independent Beer Awards 2021.
Spectre – Dry Irish Stout, 4.1% | Pouring midnight black with a silky tan head, the aroma reveals roasted barley, espresso and whispers of dark chocolate, delivering a perfectly balanced dance of roasted bitterness and a smooth, dry finish.
Travelling Tales – Irish Red Ale, 5% | A classic Irish red ale with a modern hoppy twist, blending UK Bramling Cross and North American El Dorado hops for a bright aroma of lemon, loganberry and stone fruit, with a late Jester hop addition layering in blackcurrant and resin.
Volcano – West Coast IPA, 6.5% | Crafted from the ground up for maximum flavour and intensity, with sweet malt, sharp bitterness and a hit of citrusy grapefruit from four different classic American hop varieties.
Winter Solstice – Red IPA, 5.7% | Pours a deep ruby-red, crowned with a frothy off-white head, bursting with the vibrant aromas of Citra, Cascade, Simcoe, Azacca, Amarillo and El Dorado hops, with crisp, clean bitterness meeting subtle malt sweetness.
